Left International Forum (VIF)

(VIF - Vänsterns internationella forum) was founded 1995 to direct the projects of the Left Party with partners in “the South” as well as in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Left International Forum works primarily with projects that have the objectives to

  • promote a participatory democracy and
  • decrease class differences
  • strengthen women’s role and participation
  • promote a sustainable development
  • fight oppression, exploitation and gender discrimination
  • increase self organising

The projects are developed in cooperation with political parties close to the Left Party or organisations affiliated to those parties. Since the start of 1995 the Left International Forum has financed projects in around ten countries.

The projects and activities are to a great extent financed by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) funds that go to the so called Party Affiliated Organizations (PAO).
